Meta launches enterprise AI platform
Meta is expanding its artificial intelligence ambitions beyond consumer products with a new enterprise AI platform. According to the company, the offering will give businesses and developers access to its full technology stack, including tools such as Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, and Muse Code. The move signals a major strategic shift: Meta is no longer focusing only on consumer-facing AI experiences, but is now competing for corporate customers that need scalable AI for automation, software development, and customer engagement. To lead the effort, Meta has hired MongoDB's chief executive, bringing in an experienced enterprise software leader who understands how to sell complex infrastructure to large organizations. That hire is notable because Meta has traditionally been a consumer-first company. Enterprise buyers demand different things, including security, compliance, integration support, and predictable performance. Meta appears to be positioning its AI stack as an alternative to offerings from cloud providers and specialized AI vendors. Muse and Muse Code could appeal to developers building coding assistants and internal automation, while Meta Business Agent could help companies manage customer interactions at scale. Muse API would let organizations integrate Meta's models into their own products and workflows. The launch also reflects broader competition in the enterprise AI market, where Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and OpenAI are all racing to win corporate budgets. Meta's challenge will be convincing businesses that its platform is reliable, private, and mature enough for mission-critical work. If successful, the initiative could diversify Meta's revenue and make it a more serious player in enterprise software.
