Anthropic Claude Cowork Agent Now on Mobile
Anthropic has expanded the reach of its AI agent technology with the launch of Claude Cowork, now available on both mobile devices and web browsers. The new platform allows users to initiate complex AI agent tasks on one device and seamlessly continue them on another, even after closing a laptop. This marks a significant step toward making AI agents more accessible to knowledge workers, moving beyond the developer-centric audience that has dominated the AI agent space.
Claude Cowork is designed to handle multi-step workflows such as research compilation, data analysis, document drafting, and project coordination. Users can start a task on their desktop, leave the office, and pick up exactly where they left off on their smartphone. The agent maintains context across sessions, remembering previous instructions, preferences, and partial results.
This cross-device continuity is a key differentiator in the increasingly crowded AI assistant market. While many AI tools are tethered to a single session or device, Claude Cowork treats tasks as persistent projects. For example, a marketing manager could ask Claude to analyze competitor pricing on a laptop, then review the generated report on a phone during a commute, and finally request revisions via a tablet.
Anthropic has emphasized that Claude Cowork is built with safety and user control in mind. The agent requires explicit confirmation before taking actions that modify files or send communications. By lowering the barrier to entry for non-developers, Anthropic is betting that the future of AI lies not just in chatbots, but in autonomous agents that work alongside humans across all their devices.
